BLACK DIAMOND CUSTOM TATTOOS – BOOKING POLICY & CLIENT AGREEMENT
By booking with Black Diamond Custom Tattoos (“BDCT”), you agree to the terms below. These apply to you and any guest you bring.
BOOKING & DEPOSITS
- A $100 deposit is required to reserve an appointment.
- Deposits are non-refundable and are applied toward the cost of your tattoo for that session, unless held or reassigned as described in this policy.
RESCHEDULING, CANCELLATIONS, NO-SHOWS
- With 24+ hours’ notice, your deposit may be transferred one (1) time to a new date (subject to availability).
- With less than 24 hours’ notice, cancelling or rescheduling forfeits your deposit and adds a $50 late-change fee.
- No-shows forfeit the deposit, incur the $50 late-change fee, and require a new $100 deposit to rebook.
LATE ARRIVALS (20-MINUTE GRACE PERIOD)
- We allow a 20-minute grace period.
- After 20 minutes, your appointment may be modified, shortened, or treated as a late cancellation.
- If your appointment cannot proceed due to late arrival, your deposit is forfeited and a $50 late-change fee will be charged.
TOUCH-UPS
- Touch-ups are:
• Complimentary when done during your next tattoo appointment, OR
• Booked separately at the shop minimum of $100.
- Touch-up-only appointments require a $100 deposit, which is applied to the $100 minimum.
- If a touch-up is likely to be needed due to client aftercare issues or healing problems caused by the client, BDCT may, at the artist’s discretion, apply the existing deposit toward a future touch-up instead of the tattoo session. In that case, the deposit is held and credited only toward the touch-up, not the original session balance.
AFTERCARE
- Follow verbal instructions from your artist and the written instructions provided.
- Aftercare guide: https://www.bdcustomtattoos.com/tattoocare
CODE OF CONDUCT (CLIENTS & GUESTS)
BDCT is a focused, professional environment. Safety, sanitation, and the quality of the tattoo come first.
CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY FOR GUESTS
- If you bring a guest, you are fully responsible for your guest’s conduct.
- Any fees or charges resulting from a guest’s behavior will be charged to the client’s card on file.
RESPECTFUL CONDUCT (ZERO TOLERANCE)
The following are not permitted:
- Abusive, aggressive, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, or sexually inappropriate language or behavior.
- Intimidation, yelling, arguing, or creating a hostile environment.
- Any behavior that compromises safety, sanitation, or the artist’s ability to work.
SOBRIETY / IMPAIRMENT
- Clients must arrive sober and remain sober.
- If a client appears impaired or unsafe (slurred speech, unsteady movement, inability to follow direction, erratic behavior, etc.), BDCT may stop service immediately and enforce this policy, including charging applicable fees and the Scheduled Session Amount.
GUEST CONDUCT
- One (1) guest may be permitted for most standard appointments (subject to artist and shop approval).
- Guests must remain respectful, seated, and out of the artist’s work area.
- Guests may not interfere with the process. This includes:
• Attempting to “chat up” the artist during tattooing.
• Repeatedly questioning or distracting the artist.
• Treating the appointment like an interview.
• Hovering, pacing, or otherwise disrupting the client or artist.
- If a guest is disruptive, BDCT may require the guest to leave immediately.
- For longer sessions or large pieces, BDCT may require the client to attend without a guest, or may require a guest to leave and return near completion.
BREAKS, PAIN TOLERANCE, AND SESSION TIME
We understand tattooing can be intense. Your comfort and safety are important, and you should speak up if you need a moment. At the same time, appointment time is reserved for focused tattooing.
- Standard pacing: Typically one brief break per hour, as the tattoo allows.
- Additional comfort/pain breaks: For most smaller-to-medium tattoos, we can usually accommodate up to three (3) additional brief breaks.
- Artist discretion: Your artist may adjust break pacing based on placement, complexity, and safety. If more breaks are needed than is reasonable for the scheduled time, the artist will decide how to proceed so the appointment remains fair and workable.
HOW EXTRA BREAKS AFFECT BILLING
- Hourly sessions: For sessions billed hourly, the session clock continues to run during breaks, including comfort/pain breaks.
- Non-hourly sessions (set price for that appointment): If additional breaks go beyond what is reasonable and reduce tattoo time, BDCT may apply an Extended Break Adjustment of $50 or 25% of the Scheduled Session Amount (whichever is greater). This is at the artist’s discretion and is meant to account for reserved time that cannot be used productively due to repeated stopping.
LARGE-SCALE WORK
- For large pieces and longer sessions, clients are expected to understand the time and discomfort involved.
- If you anticipate needing frequent breaks, discuss this in advance so your artist can recommend appropriate session length.
REMEDIES AND ENFORCEMENT (ARTIST DISCRETION)
If any policy or Code of Conduct issue arises, BDCT and the artist may take one or more of the following actions, in any order and at their discretion. Warnings or pauses are not required before fees are applied or appointments are ended.
Possible actions include (not limited to):
- Requiring a guest to leave.
- Pausing the session, modifying the plan, or limiting guest presence.
- Charging applicable fees (late-change fee, conduct/disruption fee, Extended Break Adjustment).
- Ending the appointment and requiring the client/guest to leave.
- Requiring a new deposit to rebook.
- Declining future bookings.
CONDUCT / DISRUPTION FEES AND APPOINTMENT CHARGES
By booking, you agree that these standards are conditions of service. Warnings are not required. A Code of Conduct violation does not need to result in the appointment ending for fees to apply.
IF BDCT MUST INTERVENE DUE TO CLIENT/GUEST CONDUCT
- If BDCT must intervene because of disruptive behavior (including guest conduct), a $50 conduct/disruption fee will be charged to the client’s card on file.
IF A VIOLATION CONTINUES OR IS SEVERE
- If disruptive or unsafe behavior does not stop immediately, if a guest refuses to comply, or if the client refuses to follow studio direction or appears impaired, BDCT may end the appointment, even if the tattoo is unfinished.
- If the appointment ends due to a violation:
• The deposit remains non-refundable and is applied to amounts due.
• The full Scheduled Session Amount will be charged to the client’s card on file.
• Any applicable fees (including the $50 conduct/disruption fee and any Extended Break Adjustment) will also be charged.
PAYMENT AUTHORIZATION
By booking, you authorize BDCT to charge the card on file for all amounts due under this agreement, including:
- Late-change fees,
- Conduct/disruption fees,
- Extended Break Adjustments when applicable,
- The full Scheduled Session Amount when a session is ended due to a violation of this policy or Code of Conduct.
DEFINITIONS

- Scheduled Session Amount: The amount reserved for that specific appointment (either the agreed session price or the total based on hourly rate and reserved time, depending on how the session is set up).
- Hourly Session: A session billed by time.
- Non-hourly Session: A session billed as a set amount for that appointment.
